X FACTOR PHILIPPINES: TOP 10 REVIEW - WHOSE ROCK HIT US THE HARDEST?

Jeric Medina - Best Performer of the Night

I would like to start this by saying I AM GLAD THAT I HEARD CRITICISMS TONIGHT. Second, Ms. Pilita Corales is so beautiful tongiht! Third, I hope that the voters would vote wisely this time because the Bottom Two last week didn't deserve that spot based on their performances. Now, for the Top 10's performances...

  • Jeric Medina - Lips of an Angel - Perfect song choice! Perfect performance! Perfect stage presence! Perfect pitch! Perfect voice! He's the one! His performance was smooth sailing, and I think this is one of his best performances so far. I can't wait for more.
  • Daddy's Home - Superstition - The best group on the show. I love that they chose that song, and I love that they all had their shining moments in that performance. They really, really did great tonight, and I'm glad that they're still on the show!
  • Modesto Taran - To Love Somebody - Awesome! Age doesn't really matter! Great song choice and great performance! I hope the people will support him until the finals, because I can also see him winning the show. It will be an awesome moment.
  • Joan Da - You Oughta Know - I love the Alanis song, and I love the way she performed it. She sounded like a female rockstar. Really great song choice, but she needs to improve her stage presence.
  • Gabriel Maturan - Breakeven - Good song. His performance was average, it's his weakest performance, but since Rock is not his genre, great job stepping it up.
  • AKA Jams - Survivor - They really did great! You're wrong Charice, that's actually a Rock-ish rap. However, it's kind of obvious that girl groups would sing something like "Survivor" so I have to say that they should've taken something more risky and performed it like pros.
  • KZ Tandingan - In The End - Not good. I wanted her to take on a risk, but instead of sticking to the original rock version. That quiet performance was boring, really boring. I am rooting for her, but she didn't really deliver this week.
  • Allen Sta. Maria - Bitch - I didn't really like the song choice. I think she didn't shine tonight, and I think that performance is not a ROCK song. I love that the judges criticized the song choice because it's really the wrong song.
  • Take Off - Makita Kang Muli - It's down here, not because it's a Filipino song, but because their performance wasn't that great. I was really hoping that Gary V. would give them something more lively, and something that would really urge people to vote for them, but he didn't.
  • Kedebon Colim - Footloose - What? I didn't understand a word except for the Kede-Kedebon part of it. Why is he still there? He's not a singer, rather an entertainer. No X Factor at all. Thank you Gary V. for the criticism, I think nobody can criticize this "entertainer" (entertainr only, not a good singer) because they might hurt his fragile mind.

POSSIBLE BOTTOM 2: Take Off, and Kedebon Colim
POSSIBLY GOING HOME: Kedebon Colim - Hopefully!

WHAT TO EXPECT TOMORROW:
Another elimination.

Do you think you'll make the right choice tomorrow? Please do and vote for the ones who are really deserving.

X FACTOR PHILIPPINES: TOP 10 PERFORMANCES

The X factor disappointed me last week, why was Mark Mabasa eliminated?!

Tonight, the X Factor top 10 finalists will be taking on rock songs, or any song that they can turn into rock songs. I hope the judges will give more criticisms tonight, because I feel that contestants need it. Here are their performances:

  1. Kedebon Colim (BOYS) - "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins
  2. AKA Jams (GROUPS) - "Survivor" by Destiny's Child
  3. Modesto Taran (OVER 25's) - "To Love Somebody" by The BeeGees
  4. Allen Sta. Maria (GIRLS) - "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks
  5. Jeric Medina (BOYS) - "Lips" of an Angel by Hinder
  6. Daddy's Home (GROUPS) - "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder
  7. Gabriel Maturan (BOYS) - "Breakeven" by The Script
  8. Joan Da (OVER 25's) "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morisette
  9. Take Off (GROUPS) - "Makita Kang Muli" by Sugarfree
  10. KZ Tandingan (GIRLS) - "In The End" by Linkin' Park
What do you think about their performances? Who do you think should be eliminated?

X FACTOR PHILIPPINES: TOP 11 REVIEW - WHO GAVE US THE MEANING OF "LIFE"

Before anything, I'm not liking the judges tonight because they're afraid to criticize each other's song choices for their contestants, and they're also afraid to criticize the contestants who should be criticized. There, said it! Done!

The top 11 has taken on the stage. Tomorrow, only 10 will live and continue the fight for the 4 million pesos. Once again, it's time to review their performances about songs with "Life" on their title. Who gave life? Who told us about life? Let's begin from the best.
Mark Mabasa - BEST PERFORMER THIS WEEK;
Credits: X Factor PH; ABS-CBN
  • Mark Mabasa - Got To Get You Into My Life - He rocked it! One of the best performances of the night! He has a really amaing voice. His versatility will help him make it through to the finale. The song choice is also great because it really showed his voice.
  • Take Off - Larger Than Life - And that's what you call LIFE! Their performance is really awesome. The end wasn't really that great with them trying to scream it, but I'll say it again, THEY DID GOOD! THEY HAVE LIFE! THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT THROUGH!
  • KZ Tandigan - For Once in my Life - Another relaxing performance which made me stand up in the end because it was really good. She started slow, and with a good transition, her performance turned into something that you can dance into. A very adaptive contestant like her should stay there longer.
  • Jeric Medina - Time Of My Life - There were a little flaws, but stage presence, voice quality, and all, he's got the complete package. This guy can win the show, and if he'll win it, he will surely be successful.
  • Modesto Taran - Habang May Buhay - He stuck to what he can really do, and that's the good thing about it. It's not a song that's lively, but it's a song about "life." There are still some minor flaws there which he has to fix, but it was still an amazing performance. He deserved that standing O.
  • Allen Sta. Maria - Bring me to Life - A bit shaky, but she's one of the contenders who brought the set back to life, and who went with the "LIFE" theme by bringing liveliness in the stage. She didn't cry, and I'm glad she didn't or I'll be annoyed again.
  • AKA Jam - This Is My Life - Not satisfied with their performance, but they actually did good. Not that great, but good. They need to work on something more, I can't just pinpoint it now. They need more spark.
  • Joan Da - Gusto Ko Lamang Sa Buhay - Big transformation, but I didn't really like her performance. She's better singing English songs. Good style though.
  • Gabriel Anciano - One Day in Your Life - I can't believe that none of them said that his song was really boring. If judges from other X Factor franchise would comment on that, he'll be brought down. Your standards are not that high judges. Good voice, boring song, has soul, but no LIFE. That's it!
  • Kedebon Colim - I Live My Life For You - Yay! He chose his song and performed it average, with a little shakiness, and with his flat voice. I still don't see why he's still in the show, I hope people will realize what they're doing. The judges have to tell him what's bad when it's bad.
POSSIBLE BOTTOM 2: Joan Da, Kedebon Colim
THE JUDGES WILL ELIMINATE: Kedebon Colim

WHAT TO EXPECT TOMORROW: Kean Cipriano, Xian Lim, and this guy from 6 Cyclemind will be on the show.

X FACTOR PHILIPPINES: FIRST LIVE RESULTS - TOP 11 REVEALED

Credit: pinoyambisyoso.com
Last night, the top 12 taken on songs from the cinemas, tonight, they'll be facing Elimination. I've read comments from other people that the judges may have taken the happy pill last night because they were full smiles, and didn't say anything bad, though some contestants didn't really live up to the public's expectations.

The top 12 performed "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen with Sam Milby. A medley for Mr. Pure Energy, Gary V. was presented by Various Artists.

TOP 11:
  • AKA Jams (GROUPS)
  • Mark Mabasa (OVER 25's)
  • Gabriel Anciano (BOYS)
  • Daddy's Home (GROUPS)
  • Jeric Medina (BOYS)
  • Modesto Taran (OVER 25's)
  • Allen Sta. Maria (GIRLS)
  • KZ Tandingan (GIRLS)
  • Take Off (GROUPS)
  • Kedebon Colim (BOYS)
  • Joan Da (OVER 25's)
BOTTOM 2:
  • Joan Da (OVER 25's) - "Chasing Pavements" by Adele
  • Jerrianne Templo (GIRLS) - I'm not quite familiar with it... I'll post it soon.
ELIMINATED: Jerrianne Templo - Her performance last night was good, but not good enough. I really wasn't expecting that she'll be the first one booted off, I still want Kedebon to go home for his not so serious performance. Charice only has 2 acts now.

JUDGES' ELIMINATION VOTES - REASON
  • Martin - Jerrianne - says it's now time for her to go home.
  • Pilita - Jerrianne - saves Joan because she's in her category.
  • Gary - Jerrianne - says he had a hard time deciding, but no clear reason.
  • Charice - Joan - sticks with Jerrianne because she's in her category.

X FACTOR PHILIPPINES: TOP 12 REVIEW

Tonight's show was the first LIVE show for X factor Philippines, and it is really worth watching because they all did great. The first name you'll read, is of course, the best performer of the night based on my opinion. I'll be ranking them from the best to the not-so-good, the way I did it with Idol. Here you go...
Best Performer of the Night; Image from: facebook.com/xfactorabscbn
  • KZ Tandingan - The Show - The song was just relaxing, I don't know why some of the judges didn't like it, but I think it's a really amazing song choice. She has to relax sometimes, and that song is considered relaxing, so what are they saying?
  • Allen Jane Sta. Maria - Keep Holdin' On - Amazing performance. She really had me, Charice did a great job. I'll set aside the fact that she's crying because this is the first live show, Ms. Pilita is right, she shouldn't cry because that decreases her confidence points, and it's annoying.
  • Mark Mabasa - Kiss from a Rose - I was amazzed once again! With that voice range, he's really gonna make it to the top. I can't wait to hear him sing other songs which will surely be better than this first one. This performance is great, but the following weeks will surely be greater for this guy.
  • A.K.A. Jam - Got to be Real - Not my favorite group, but for that performance, they deserve that standing o. Another amazing performance for tonight.
  • Jeric Medina - Unchained Melody - A complete X factor Package, the looks, the voice, what are we still looking for? Consistency, he's proven that tonight, but there are more weeks to come, and he should do better than tonight's performance or he'll be booted off.
  • Daddy's Home - Till My Heartaches End - Really amazing performance. They are my favorite group in the competition and I'm really hoping that they'll make it far. I hope people will vote for them, because they really deserve to stay. Their performance was really great.
  • Gabriel Aciano - It will Rain - Yes, he really improved a lot! Amazing job for Martin! I don't think he'll make it that far, so he should do his best. I'm looking forward to seeing him next week.
  • Joan Da - Sunday Morning - She has a really beutiful voice. UNIQUE!. Ms. pilita should've picked a better song for her because that song's a little boring FOR ME! Her performance was still great, but the song choice should've been better.
  • Jerrianne Templo - The First Time Ever I Saw your Face - Great voice, really soulful, but the song choice is bad. It's actually a good song, but I didn't see the spark. She didn't shine tonight. I expected something way better than that.
  • Modesto Taran - Johnny B. Goode - Aww, his performance was adorable, but I have to agree with Gary, however, he should've stuck to what he really does best, singing slow songs with his big voice. I hope he'll make it further because I'm looking forward to better performances.
  • Take Off - Jailhouse Rock - People ill roll their eyes when they read this, but all I can say is this song is better sung solo. THUMBS DOWN! Sorry...
  • Kedebon Colim - First Day High - I wanted a serious performance. He's the one who closed the show, and I expected a lot from this guy. I am very annoyed that he even made it to the top 12. The other guys really had it, they have the complete package, but for him, he still needs to prove a lot.

SAFE FOR SURE: Jeric Medina, KZ Tandingan
POSSIBLE BOTTOM 2: Modesto Taran, Joan Da
THE JUDGES WILL ELIMINATE: Modesto Taran
WHAT TO EXPECT TOMORROW: A performance from Sam Milby, and the first Live Elimination!

What do you think of the performances tonight? Who do you think is gonna go home? Comment. Follow me on twitter @RenzAlfonso.
