AMERICAN IDOL 2012: THE TOUGH TOP 5 REVEALED

Weeks have passed, and we're slowly dwindling down to two. Tonight, only 5 contestants will be left on stage to make their dreams come true. Adding a little entertainment, we have Stefano Langone and Katy Perry perform on the Idol stage, and we have Ryan Seacrest and Kieran to build up the tension as they dim the lights.

America, who did you vote for?

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 6 PERFORMANCE REVIEW

The American Idol 2012 top 6 has taken on the stage with Queen songs, and Personal song choices. Who stood out? Here's what I think.

Skylar performing The Show Must Go On; Credits: FOX
QUEEN

  1. Skylar Laine - The Show Must Go On - I love the song choice and I love the performance. She really showed it to America that she's not standing in the middle of the pack, because she's really starting to lead now!
  2. Hollie Cavanagh - Save Me - Save her, not by pity, but because she really deserves it. That performance was way, way much better than some of the other performances. It's not boring if you watch it again, really.
  3. Elise Testone - I Want It All - Another good job brought to us by Elise. America must vote for her. It wasn't her best, but her Queen performance stood out than the others below her in this list. Elise must go on.
  4. Phillip Phillips - Fat Bottomed Girls - I know he always do those shoulder shrugs, and weird dances, but he looked like he was struggling with the song, though he sang it great. I don't know, he looked like he was just struggling.
  5. Jessica Sanchez - Bohemian Rhapsody - Where's the rock and roll on the song? I'll have to say it's not Bohemian Rhapsody without the runnin', without the hair flying, and without the rockin' facial expressions. Good vocals, but stage presence, thumbs down!
  6. Joshua Ledet - Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Okay, the judges are defintely giving him the standing ovation to give him a mark, and make America remember him. That's just unfair, because for me, the song didn't really fit him.

PERSONAL  CHOICES

  1. Skylar Laine - Tattoos on this Town - Awesome job! She may have been placed on a elimination-phrone spot, but I have a great feeling that she won't be going home tomorrow because of this memorable performance, as well as the other one. Skylar's a really great artist, and haters will be haters, so don't listen to them.
  2. Hollie Cavanagh - The Climb - This girl is really fighting for a spot on the top 5, and that song definitely helped her. She connected with it, because she really has to climb her way to the top, and she showed us her range once again. Hollie did a really great job tonight.
  3. Phillip Phillips - The Stone - It's one of the most unusual performances you'll see on Idol. He held on, and he did a good job. I'll have to say it's much better than his first performance.
  4. Elise Testone - Bold As Love - America! Don't be deaf! Vote for this girl! Her performances were ones of the performances which stood out not only tonight, but as well as the previous weeks. The song choice was really great, and it fits her.
  5. Joshua Ledet - Ready For Love - This was way, way better than the first song. Joshua really did a great job, and these are the songs he should be recording. GO JOSHUA!
  6. Jessica Sanchez - Dance With My Father Again - Cool song choice, but I was a little bit bored. he showed great emotion, she connected with the audience a little, and we heard her powerful voice, but for me, it's just a so-so. Jessica can do better than that.

If I'll rank them combining both performances, it'll be...

  1. Skylar Laine
  2. Hollie Cavanagh
  3. Elise Testone
  4. Phillip Phillips
  5. Joshua Ledet
  6. Jessica Sanchez

BOTTOM 3: Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone, Hollie Cavangh
ELIMINATED: Elise Testone, because the judges are so bias about giving comments.

What do you think about their performances? Who's going home tomorrow? Comment.

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 6 SUGGESTION AND CHALLENGE SONGS FOR 'QUEEN' WEEK

The Top 6; CREDITS: americanidol.com

Last week was the most shocking week because one of the best contestants has left us, it's even more shocking than Jessica's supposed to be departure, but we all have to move on and let the judges be more bias so that the best contestants will leave first. This week, the top 6 will be singing songs by Queen and another random song choice, and my job today is to suggest and challenge (Only for Queen, btu I may do a suggestion for the random songs too, soon). Let's start!

Elise Testone
SUGGETION: Innuendo - This song is just so Elise. It has that growly thing going on and that's just Elise. he has to work really hard if she doesn't want to be in the bottom three again. he;s a great artist but I think she should always step it up every time she performs.
CHALLENGE: I Want It All - Another rock/growly song for Elise. It's a hard song to cover, but it can help Elise escape the bottom three, only if she can send the message to America. She wants it all, the title, the fame, and the votes.

Joshua Ledet
SUGGETION: Another One Bites the Dust - Joshua can really funk it up with this song, I really don't know which song I should suggest to him, and when i listened to this, I remembered Joshua. He can sing the song, and it's perfect for him.
CHALLENGE: Too Much Love Will Kill You - This is actually an easy challenge because it's perfect for Joshua's voice, what's a challenge about it is the delivery and the connection with the song. We'll see how he's gonna work with it if he sings this song.

Skylar Laine
SUGGETION: We Will Rock You - This is the best song for her, and I think she's gonna nail it. I can't say anything more.
CHALLENGE: One Vision - I love this song, I think Skylar Laine can rock this out. Now, why did I make it a challenge? It's a song about religion, and singing songs about religion is hard, but on the bright side, it's about unity, she can definitely work this one out.

Jessica Sanchez
SUGGETION: Don't Stop Me Now - I wanna see Jessica have fun again, and this is a song which talks about having a good time, and at the same time, not stopping to live the life you want to live. She can send a message to the viewers that she's gonna fight until the end.
CHALLENGE: Under Pressure - It's a song usually covered by guys, and that's the challenge, twist it, and make it perfect. We'll see what Jessica can really do.

Phillip Phillips:
SUGGETION: Killer Queen - It's a fun song, and though I know he's gonna use his style again with the song, it's not going to be boring because of the vibe of the song. It's just perfect for him, all he needs is more good storytelling with rhythm.
CHALLENGE: Body Language - This song will steal a lot of votes for sure if Phillip can sing it perfectly. It's the type of song song outside his boundaries, and he has to show sexiness for plus points.

Hollie Cavanagh
SUGGETION: I Want To Break Free - The only problem with the song is that it can sound karaoke if it's not sung perfectly, but I know Hollie can pull it off, she just needs to practice a little bit of this and that, and she's good, no, great!
CHALLENGE: Bohemian Rhapsody - It's one of Queen's biggest songs, Hollie can sing it, but it would be hard for her because she has to do a lot of practice, and she has to work with pitch control if she wants to stay on track. It's a hard song, but it can be Hollie's redemption.

There you have it! What do you think should they sing?

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: REAL REVEAL OF THE TOP 6

The contestants did a really great job last night putting up a performance show like that, however, the judges were so bias that they liked Joshua and Phillip's performance though they didn't really do a great job. Tonight, only one will leave - unlike other previous seasons where after the save has been used, two people will be leaving - why one? It's because they have to make up with eliminating two contestants last top 12, yes, I'm talking about Jermain Jones and Shannon Magrane.

BOTTOM 3:
  • Hollie Cavanagh
  • Elise Testone
  • Colton Dixon
ELIMINATED:
  • Colton Dixon
TOP 6 CONTESTANTS
  • Joshua Ledet
  • Skylar Laine
  • Jessica Sanchez
  • Phillip Phillips
  • Elise Testone
  • Hollie Cavanagh
What do you think about the results? Did America vote for the right top 6? Comment

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 7 ROUND 2 SUGGESTIONS AND CHALLNGE

The top 7.

The save has been used on Jessica which makes this week much harder for the contestants. Well, there's a possibility that only one contestant will be leaving on Thursday because of Jermaine Jones' disqualification. ANyways, the theme for the second round of the top 7 will be "Songs from Now and Then" we'll still be hearing some current songs, and we're going back in time once again as they take a "Soul" song from the previous decades. Now, I'll be posting my suggestions and challenge, so let's start.

SONGS FROM NOW:
Jessica Sanchez
SUGGESTION: We Found Love by Rihanna - This was a challenge last week, but since Jessica is a great singer, I know that she can take on this song, so it's not much of a challenge for her.
CHALLENGE: Survivor by Destiny's Child - It's a really hard song to sing, and I haven't really seen Jessica dance (real dance), on the stage, so maybe this song can make her dance, and show her range, and make America regret what they did last week.

Joshua Ledet
SUGGESTION: If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys - I don't know why I suggested this song, but after I saw those guys perform this on the voice, I remembered Joshua, and I think I want him to sing the song because he has the range.
CHALLENGE: Apologize by Timbaland and One Republic - First, we'll see his technique of how he's going to take on a song which is outside the boundaries of his artistry, and second, we'll see how he can manage to make America vote for him again.

Hollie Cavanagh
SUGGESTION: The Climb by Miley Cyrus - It's perfect for her stand in the competition right now, she was in the bottom three twice, but last week, she climbed from the bottom three to being safe, and this time, she has to climb even higher so she can be safe once again.
CHALLENGE: Complicated by Avril Lavigne - It fits Hollie's voice, and that's the only advantage for this challenge, the other things she should do is to make it her own, rock it out, make the judges love her again, and make America vote for her.

Colton Dixon
SUGGESTION: We are Young by Fun ft. Janelle Monae - I think this is one of the songs where I'll really hear Colton sing. That's what I said last week, and I still think he should sing this song.
CHALLENGE: Home by Chris Daughtry - It's a song by a previous Idol contestant, and that's the just the challenge. We heard him sing different songs, but what about going back to the original?

Skylar Laine
SUGGESTION: Flat on the Floor by Carrie Underwood - I saw Lauren take on this song last season, and she nailed it, with Skylar, I think it would be extra amazing because she can really rock it out.
CHALLENGE: Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson - This is one of Kelly's greatest songs, and she's gonna be compared to her if she performs this song. I know this girl can do anything, but this is a song which is out of her boundaries, but not out of her range, so I consider it a challenge.

Phillip Phillips
SUGGESTION: Viva La Vida by Coldplay - He sounds like a guy who can sing Coldplay, so he should sing one Coldplay song, and I hope it's not gonna be boring again.
CHALLENGE: Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's - The song will be easy for Phillip, however, connecting with it would be hard, and he also has to show people a different vibe while he's performing on stage because he is boring.

Elise Testone
SUGGESTION: Black Horse and the Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall - I love this song, and I know Elise can nail it. It's perfect for her voice, and it's gonna show a more fun side of her. America also knows the song, and that's the deal here.
CHALLENGE: Disturbia by Rihanna - THis song is really hard to sing, but with it, Elise can take all the Rihanna fans, especially if she can nail it, and make it her own.

SONGS FROM THEN (SUGGESTIONS ONLY)
Jessica Sanchez - Dancing in the Street by Martha and the Vandellas - Just like what I said earlier, I wanna see Jessica dance. This song can also showcase her voice, and show how extra talented she is.

Joshua Ledet - Purple Rain by Prince - I'm not really sure if it's a soul song, but since it's  gospel, I think it can be counted. The sensitive side of Joshua is what I like about him, and not the "Runaway Baby" Joshua, that's all of it, because I think he can handle the song well.

Hollie Cavanagh - Proud Mary by Ike and Tina Turner - Yup, it's a soul song when Tina Turner covered the song. This song can definitely redeem Hollie Cavanagh, only if she can really rock it out on the stage and show that she can have fun.

Colton Dixon - My Girl by The Temptations - I've heard a lot of artists who sound like Colton Dixon cover the song, and I think it would be perfect for him. That's what I've been saying all along.

Skylar Laine - River Deep, Mountain High by Ike and Tina Turner - I missed her performance level when she performed "Stay with me" so let's try to bring that back. River Deep, Mountain High can definitely save her, and all of us really wants to see the headbangin' Skyalr Laine, so I really hope she's going to perform this song.

Phillip Phillips - I Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye - This psychadelic soul song may have eliminated Casey last season, but for Phillips, I have a big feeling that he can nail it, and I think he can show a different side which is not boring.

Elise Testone - Earth Song by Michael Jackson - The elements of blues, gospel and opera will really make America vote for Elise if she sings this song. I think it's one of the songs that should be covered this season for someone to make a moment.

What do you think should they sing? Comment.

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 7 - THE SHOCKING RESULTS AND THE BIG SAVE

The Bottom 3; CREDITS: americanidol.com
The top 7 has taken on the stage last night with songs from this decade, and it was really boring. Now, one of them must go home for us to find out who the top 6 are, only if the judges doesn't use the save.

Jennifer Hudson and James Durbin will also be performing for us on the show, to add a little entertainment to the boring but full-of-suspense American Idol results show.

The top 7 were separated in two groups, leaving one to choose which group he/she belongs to complete the top 4 or the bottom 4.

GROUP "ONE" - BOTTOM 3 - The judges might be using the SAVE.
  • Jessica Sanchez
  • Elise Testone
  • Joshua Ledet
GROUP "TWO" - SAFE
  • Hollie Cavanagh
  • Phillip Phillips
  • Colton Dixon
Skyalr Laine was sent to safety along with the other three safe people..

LOWEST VOTE GETTER:
  • Jessica Sanchez
SAVED? Yes... The judges saved Jessica Sanchez, because they know she can win it.

TOP 7 (redux):
  • Hollie Cavanagh
  • Phillip Phillips
  • Colton Dixon
  • Skylar Laine
  • Elise Testone
  • Joshua Ledet
  • Jessica Sanchez
The top 7 are still complete, and they better be ready for another challenging week because it's getting harder, and harder to convince America. Joshua and Elise are in danger next week, that's what I think.

What are your thoughts about tonight's show? Comment.

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 7 PERFORMANCE REVIEW

She did it again! ; CREDITS: FOX
The top 7 has taken on the stage and I wasn't expecting that it would be a little boring. I know I was excited and all last week, but when I watched it, I was really disappointed. Anyway, Hollie is on the edge, and let's hope the judges will save her, but Phillip will always be safe and so, I don't have to comment on that, I'll just start ranking them now!

  1.  Elise Testone - "You and I" by Lady Gaga - Guess who I just heard there... Adele and Lady Gaga at the same time. I loved the song choice, I loved the performance, America should vote for her, if she will be voted off tomorrow, the judges should save her! GO ELISE! he really rocked that performance!!!
  2. Jessica Sanchez - "Stuttering" by Jazmine Sullivan - I think she really did a great job. I'm starting to appreciate her voice even more. he';s a great girl and she's gonna make it further in the competition. he has good control, and she doesn't push too much. I love that.
  3. Holle Cavanagh - "Perfect" by Pink - The judges want her off the show. he did a great job performing, but the way they criticized her, it's like she didn't do a good job. I don't know, but America, you better vote for this girl because she deserves to be in the finale, and to the judges, YOU ARE ALL WRONG! Your minds are overworking that they malfunctioned when it's her turn to perform.
  4. Skylar Laine - "Didn't Know How Much I Loved You" by Kellie Pickler - Her performance was awesome, but didn't make her stand out for the night. he might be in a little danger with that performance, though she really did good, and though she's one of the best singers this year.
  5. Phillip Phillips - "Give a Little More" by Maroon 5 - Great Job! But it's still boring. He has a unique voice, and he should start exploring what it really can do, because all your performances are just the same week by week. Think America!
  6. Colton Dixon - "Love The Way You Lie" by Rihanna - I know everyone will disagree, but that's not a good performance. It's his worst performance so far.I'll just give him another chance by saying that he just pickjed the wrong song, but he should do better next time, vocally, and he should start picking the right songs from now on.
  7. Joshua Ledet - "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars - Overdid it to the level that he didn't sound like it's his best. He's not relaxed, and he's pushing himself too hard. He oversung the song, and I really didn't like any of it, YES, even the song choice.
GROUPS:
  1. Elise and Phillip - It was perfect.
  2. Colton and Skylar - It was great.
  3. Joshua, Hollie, and Jessica - I'm sorry, but I think Joshua ruined it.
As you can all see, the girls did better this week, and I hope all the girls out there in America are gonna vote wisely, and think about what they are really doing to the other contestants.

BOTTOM 3: Hollie Cavanagh, Elise Testone/Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet
ELIMINATED: Joshua Ledet
SAVE? If it's Joshua, it's 50/50, but most likely, no.

What do you think about their performances? Who should be eliminated?

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 7 SUGGESTIONS AND CHALLENGES

American Idol 2012 Top 7; Credits: americanidol.com; Edited by: Renz Alfonso

From the previous weeks, I wasn't really much familiar to the songs they were taking on, but this week, I'm so glad that they decided to let the contestants sing songs from this decade, which means, we'll be hearing current songs, and not the oldies. Now, I'll give one suggestion song and one challenge song per contestant this week, with all the enthusiasm in the world, because I think this is one of the best themes ever! And I hope the show will be successful... How? By picking the right songs.

Elise Testone
SUGGESTION: The Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga - I know, I know, this song was already sang by Erika Van Pelt for the wildcard rounds, but there's nothing wrong with repeating a song. I think the song fits her voice, and I think she can connect with it because she is really on the edge now, and she has to take America with her so that they'll vote for her.
CHALLENGE: Take Care by Drake ft. Rihanna - It's a current song, and people are gonna be comparing, but with Elise's voice, the song is just right. It's a new song, and it's gonna make people vote for her, especially if she can really do a great job performing and connecting with the song.

Jessica Sanchez
SUGGESTION: Impossible by Shontelle - I know it's a slow song, but I know she's gonna be great with it. The song has something in it that would definitely make Jessica take America. It's gonna show her range, and it's also gonna show us that this girl can really sing anything, and she can do anything. The song is just perfect for her voice.
CHALLENGE: We Found Love by Rihanna - This is the first song that went on my mind whenever I hear challenge . I think Jessica can sing it, and she can have fun, however, she needs all the effort to interpret the song on stage, like she found love on the competition, because she loves what she is doing.

Colton Dixon
SUGGESTION: We Are Young by Fun ft. Janelle Monae - I think this is one of the songs where I'll really hear Colton sing. With the lyrics, and the melody, he's gonna make everyone sing with him. It's a hard song, but I know he can still nail it. That's all I can say about the song.
CHALLENGE: Rolling in the Deep by Adele - I've been hearing a lot of male covers on this song, and this guy is one of those people who has the voice to sing this song. I challenge him to take on this so that he can show everyone that he's not only isolated in one genre, but he can also do a song which is out of his line.

Phillip Phillips
SUGGESTION: Dynamite by Taio Cruz - Yes, this is definitely a suggestion for Phillip Phillips, Jr. Why? He has to start stepping it up, and quit doing the same recycled material every week. I said this before, and I'm going to say it again, he is one of the people who has winning potentials but with what he's doing from week to week, that is starting to fade. We don't want America saying "He only won because they lovew his face." in the future.
CHALLENGE: Any song by Bruno Mars - Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna give this guy a hard time because I want him to really convince everyone. I've seen posts, and comments that says Phillip is always doing the same thing everyweek, and so, with songs by Bruno Mars, he can do something different.

Joshua Ledet
SUGGESTION: Without You by David Guetta ft. Usher - We're all gonna love it! That's what I know! I think he has the voice, and I think he's gonna do another outstanding performance if he's going to sing this song. He's one of the people who's in danger if they won't do a good job this week, so, Joshua, sing this song!
CHALLENGE: Forget You by Cee Lo Green - It's gonna sound karaoke if you sing it, and that is the challenge for Joshua Ledet, interpret this song, and make it your own.

Hollie Cavanagh
SUGGESTION: Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars - It's a new song, and that would be great for Hollie. It's soft, but it will show her range, and I think she's gonna do agreat job with it because she'll be able to relax with the song. I think she deserves to stay longer in the competiion, too, and America has to see and hear that.
CHALLENGE: Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down by Alicia Keys - It's a song which is hard to interpret if you never lived in New York, and I am challenging Hollie to take on this song because I know it would be a redemption for her. At first, I thought that it's gonna be all over the place if she sings this, but after being in the bottom thre twice, I think Hollie has her own way of changing her stand in the competition.

Skylar Laine
SUGGESTION: If I Die Young by The Band Perry - Lauren Alaina sang this last week, and she did a really great job. She has a voice similar to Lauren Alaina, and maybe doing this song would also be an advanatage for her because it is country.
CHALLENGE: Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) by Kelly Clarkson - We are going to love it if she's gonna perform this song. As we all observed, she can sing anything. This is a challenge song because it was recorded by Kelly Clarkson, and people, maybe even the judges, are gonna compare their performances, whether it was better, equal, or a complete murder.

It's gonna be a hard week, because the songs are current. They have to nail it, and make America vote for them.
What do you think should the top 7 sing? Comment.

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 8 STUDIO RECORDINGS REVIEW

American Idol Top 8 - Season 11
Compilation Album
Since I'm not posting that much in this blog, I decided that I'll also start reviewing the studio recordings of each contestant every week, and I'm gonna start with the top 8. As you all know, the studio versions of their songs are different from their live performances and so, you are gonna see a different ranking in this post. Here we go...

  1. Skylar Laine - Wind Beneath My Wings - Nobody can beat her this week, that's my opinion. She did a really great job delivering her performance, and with this recording, she had me again, and I think it's not only me that she got. I hope we're gonna hear more of her studio recordings.
  2. Colton Dixon - Time After Time - It sounded like his performance, same arrangement, same range, and I still loved it. However, I still see him doing soft rock, or rock songs, and with that, I hope he picks a better song next week.
  3. Hollie Cavanagh - Flashdance... What a Feelin' - Despite of that performance, she had a great studio recording. I think her performance last Wednesday night was good, but this version is way, way much better. One thing I have to tell Hollie, she should start taking on bigger songs that shows us why she is deserving to stay in the competition.
  4. Elise Testone - I Want To Know What Love Is - I loved it. It's a song which was gonna sound karaoke when you sing it, but for her, it seemed so natural, it didn't sound karaoke at all. I hope people are gonna start voting for the voice, and not for the face so that she can stay longer in the competition.
  5. Jessica Sanchez - How Will I Know - Her recording was just a so-so for me, I loved her performance more, because I saw her have fun.
  6. DeAndre Brackensick - I Like It - Just like all his previous songs, I always like the studio versions better. I don't know, but this performance was great, and he wasn't on the top because I still think that the others are better than him.
  7. Joshua Ledet - If You Don't Know Me By Now - I don't want to say anything against this song, but his performance was better. The studio recording was just so-so, but I still like his voice.
  8. Phillip Phillips - That's All - I don't know what I didn't like about it, but it sounded like his first performance from way back. That's All.

Have you listened to their studio recordings for this week? If not, DOWNLOAD THEM HERE.

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: TOP 8 REVIEW

Skylar Laine, best performance of the night; Credits: FOX
The top 8 have taken on the stage, and the show didn't turn out to be boring. It's now time to review each of their performances, starting from the best, to the person who I think didn't do a really great job. Before that, I just noticed people who perform last are really nailing it, Phillip, Colton, Elise, and now Skylar. Now, let's start the review...

SOLOS:

  1. Skylar Laine - Wind Beneath My Wings - She was really connected to the song, and I love how she performed it. Okay, a lot of people are saying that she's not gonna win, I have to agree with them, but we all have to admit that she's a great artist. The judges did a great job picking the contestants this year. Skylar really did a good job closing the show, and that's quite a redemption from last week. I love her.
  2. Colton Dixon - Time After Time - Great arrangement, it sounded like it's his own, and I saw him connect with the song. I want to see him do a performance like "Pianoi Man" again, though, so I hope he'll pick a slower and soft-rock-ish song next week. One more thing, I'd be surprised if I see him leave for the upcoming weeks.
  3. Jessica Sanchez - How Will I Know - I'm glad she did a happy song this week, because I really want to see her have more fun on stage. It was a better version of Jessica than the previous versions of her, because I saw her confidence, and she really did a great, awesome job. I like this Jessica, and I hope I'll see more of her doing performances like this.
  4. Elise Testone - I Want To Know What Love Is - I'm starting to love her ever since she started really singing. Her performance was average, but it s enough to put her through the next round. I said average because I know she can do better than that, and with that average performance, she still did a great job performing better than some of the other contestants.
  5. Joshua Ledet - If You Don't Know Me By Now - Cool! I had hints that he'll be the one doing the song when I saw the spoiler song list. I wasn't expecting that much from him, because I know he can nail it, he's a great guy, and I know he's gonna make it far in the competition. This is bad, but I still don't think that he can win the competition.
  6. DeAndre Brackensick - I Like It - I think he did a great job this week, and he's really being tru to what he can do. I just think that he should start taking risks this time, because five people have been voted off, and you don't want to be the sixth. It's time to step out of you comfort zone and start to show people what other things you are capable of.
  7. Hollie Cavanagh - Flashdance... What a Feelin' - Great song, but she didn't deliver it well. She also didn't connect that much to the song, but she still has a great voice, just more connection next time. If she will ever be eliminated this week, I hope the judges save her, and I hope America will give her another chance after that.
  8. Phillip Phillips - That's All - I don't think Phillip did a great job this week, and just like what I said the previous weeks, he has to step it up because he just has to. Each performances are just similar, and I want him to do something new.

GROUPS:
  1. Joshua & Jessica - I Knew You Were Waiting For Me - Best duet of the night, I'm glad they decided to pair these two. They did a really awesome performance, and there's nothing more I can say about it.
  2. Colton & Skylar - Islands in the Stream - First of all, they were trending on twitter worldwide, and that's because their performance left an impact. They did a great job, and it was almost perfect.
  3. Phillip & Elise - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around - They did a great, great job, but they weren't the best. I love their duo, and I love their song, great job!
  4. DeAndre & Hollie - I'm So Excited - I like their performance, but I think DeAndre was a little exaggerated when he sang the song, with Hollie, she did a good job, and I saw them have fun, so that's it.
MY THOUGHTS FOR TONIGHT'S SHOW:
Bottom 3: Hollie Cavanagh, DeAndre Brackensick, Joshua Ledet
Eliminated: DeAndre Brackensick
Save? No

What do you think about their performances? Who do you think will be eliminated?

AMERICAN IDOL 2012: WHAT THEY SHOULD SING FOR 80'S WEEK

Edited by Renz Alfonso; Follow me on Twitter @RenzAlfonso
The American Idol 2012 top 8 will be taking on songs from the 80's and will be mentored. Let's hope for a very wonderful show, and let's all hope that they will not be singing boring songs. They will also be mentored by Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal. Anyways, I'll be suggesting songs for them to sing, so here we go...

  • DeAndre Brackensick - "Open Arms" by Journey/"Africa" by Toto - If he's not gonna sound karaoke when he's singing this song, I will be really amazed with him. For the past weeks, I really viewed this guy as a boring contestant, but hopefully, with this song, my perception about him would change. He can also do Africa, and we'll see how he's gonna take it.
  • Jessica Sanchez - "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)" by Phil Collins This girl can sing anything, and with her voice, she should take on big songs such as this one. If she would convince the judge with this really hard-to-interpret-song, I will also be convinced that a girl should really win this competition, and that's her. Maybe Alone" by Heart will also work for her.
  • Joshua Ledet "I'll Be There For You" by Bon Jovi I just know he can rock it out with this song. He has to perform a rock song and I think this one will really show what he can do.
  • Skylar Laine - "Like A Prayer" by Madonna This is one of my craziest suggestions this week, but I know she can pull it off. Her voice is country, and if she knows how to put herself in this song, she will do a good job. We'll see, because I'm also not sure which song fits her among all the songs that I've found.
  • Colton Dixon - "Under Pressure" by Queen - This is one of the songs which I find hard to connect with, and if I'll see him connect with this song, I'll say that he is a really great artist. This is more of a dare and not a suggestion, because I want to see him step it up a little more after that Piano Man performance. Speaking of something soft, this guy can also do "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John with a soft rock vibe.
  • Hollie Cavanagh "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar I am daring Hollie to take on this song, but for my suggestion, I'll say "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" by Air Suplply, Why? Because it really fits her, it's a big song, and it would really show her range, and unlike her two previous performances, I think she will really nail this one.
  • Phillip Phillips - "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves You might think this is a dare, but it is really a suggestion. I want to see him have fun on the stage with this song, because that's when he performs best. He is one of the singers with the winning potential, this song may not be perfect, but he can really pull it off with anything.
  • Elise Testone - "I Love Rock 'n Roll" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts We've seen Elise rock it out with her Led Zepellin last week, and now, I want to see her do more of that. She is a great artist, and if she does this song, which is known by almost everyone, she will really shine.
What do you think should they sing? Comment.
